Jonathan Gregg, an Engineering Technician at McCloy Consulting…
Aside from working at McCloy Consulting, I am currently a student at Queen’s University Belfast as this is my sandwich year for my Civil Engineering course. I saw the McCloy’s advertisement through my university and applied through them. I have been working since mid-July so, luckily, I had a chance to work from the office before restrictions required everyone to work from home.
What is a typical day for you?
My daily tasks consist mainly of providing GIS and CAD support to the rest of the office. This means that I end up working on a variety of projects. The various teams all work together so you get a real sense of what each team gets involved with. Another part of my duties is organising and attending site visits. There are also frequent opportunities to get out on site for a break from desk work.
What is it like to work for McCloy Consulting?
McCloy Consulting is a great place to work, is very friendly, and a real sense of team spirit. The office has a relaxed atmosphere, and it is easy to fit in. The office building is a beautifully renovated flax mill with easy access to a forest park for a relaxing lunch walk, which I managed to take full advantage of before lockdown.
