Michael is a Senior Engineer at McCloy Consulting Ltd and a member of Engineers Ireland. He first joined the company in 2015 as an undergraduate placement student and later graduated with a MEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Queens University Belfast in 2017. Michael achieved top honours in his class and was awarded CIWEM NI Graduate of the Year.
With extensive experience in flood risk and drainage, Michael specialises in engineering hydrology, flood estimation, flood risk modelling, flood risk assessment, and surface water management design. He plays a key role in the company’s flood risk services, particularly in hydraulic modelling for river and urban drainage networks, integrated catchment modelling, SuDS modelling, and detailed flood and hydrological studies.
Additionally, Michael has led Civil Engineering design efforts for various conventional and sustainable drainage systems, as well as flood alleviation projects.
