Our approach to CSH

SUR 1: Surface Water Run-off Appraisal

We investigate and advise on the most appropriate surface water drainage solutions for the site and provide a written report. This will identify how the Mandatory Elements of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) Category 4 will be achieved. A typical report would include the following:

Review of existing drainage records
Calculation of the run-off rates and volumes, pre and post development
Analysis of percolation tests
Recommendations on dealing with additional runoff (infiltration, rainwater recycling and/or attenuation).
Consultations with Rivers Agency, NI Water, Road Service, Planning Service, Building Control where appropriate
Level 1 FRA – Screening Study to identify flooding or surface water management issues (Mandatory Evidence)
Assessment of options for site drainage, advice and identification of potential issues (e.g. no adoption route)
Development of drainage maintenance manuals

SUR 2: Flood Risk

We will provide the following as part of the FRA assessment for each site:

Sequential test
Vulnerability assessment
Determination of Q1000 floodplain boundary – not currently available from Rivers Agency floodplain maps
Definition of flood hazard and flood zone
Identification of residual risk and mitigation measures
