Our approach to CSH
SUR 1: Surface Water Run-off Appraisal
We investigate and advise on the most appropriate surface water drainage solutions for the site and provide a written report. This will identify how the Mandatory Elements of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) Category 4 will be achieved. A typical report would include the following:
Review of existing drainage records |
Calculation of the run-off rates and volumes, pre and post development |
Analysis of percolation tests |
Recommendations on dealing with additional runoff (infiltration, rainwater recycling and/or attenuation). |
Consultations with Rivers Agency, NI Water, Road Service, Planning Service, Building Control where appropriate |
Level 1 FRA – Screening Study to identify flooding or surface water management issues (Mandatory Evidence) |
Assessment of options for site drainage, advice and identification of potential issues (e.g. no adoption route) |
Development of drainage maintenance manuals |
SUR 2: Flood Risk
We will provide the following as part of the FRA assessment for each site:
Sequential test |
Vulnerability assessment |
Determination of Q1000 floodplain boundary – not currently available from Rivers Agency floodplain maps |
Definition of flood hazard and flood zone |
Identification of residual risk and mitigation measures |
